The disappointment of labels.

After our stop at Ferrara’s in Little Italy, a woman on my tour giggled as she ate her Tiramisu, “You know, we’re Baptists so we’re not supposed to drink, but this sure do taste good!” “Have you not had Tiramisu before?” I asked. She laughed me off, silly, elitist, New Yorker, “Oh, I make it all the time but I substitute vanilla extract for the Kahlua.” I made a special stop at the Food Emporium to show her: Vanilla extract, 35 proof. I imagine her in some kind of Purgatory now she never quite believed existed.
