The author.

I live in NYC on a noisy corner in midtown. But I once called the police on a trombonist because he was louder than the traffic. As far as hopes and dreams, I can’t even keep the ficus alive. I give tours of the city. I act.

What happened? Earlier this week it said your blog was gone.

      Really?

Rats. My numbers went crashing, too.

Thanks for letting me know, Joe. Keep me posted?

        Sure thing!

        Loved your last blog!

      • Joe Pineda March 17, 2012 at 10:17 pm #

Thanks! WordPress kind of told me about it when you weren’t looking.

Dangit. WP is still pulling a fast one with you.

    • NC Coot March 19, 2012 at 8:38 am #

Thanks again for letting me know, Joe. I’m assuming I’m back up since you were able to comment?

  3. transparentguy March 24, 2012 at 10:12 pm #

I was brash enough to put your blog on my blogroll without asking first.

    • NC Coot March 24, 2012 at 10:16 pm #

      Then I’ll do the same.

      • transparentguy March 24, 2012 at 10:21 pm #

Don’t feel like you need to. I just wanted to highlight your work.

      • NC Coot March 24, 2012 at 10:26 pm #

I’ll have to admit now to being an imbecile and not knowing how to set a blogroll up. I just started the page and I’m still discovering its joys every day like an idiot child who forgets every morning how awful yesterday was.

Feel free to talk me through it when you’ve a moment. I REALLY like your stuff.

Not to put pressure on you … but I’m anxious for more to read. Get crackin’!

    • NC Coot April 7, 2012 at 12:36 am #

That’s the nicest bit of inspiration I’ve ever gotten. I’m showing my apartment again tomorrow. Source material.

      • transparentguy April 7, 2012 at 12:39 am #

I’ll pray for you even though I’m not a praying man.

      • NC Coot April 7, 2012 at 12:41 am #

I might have written exactly that. Thank you!

      • transparentguy April 7, 2012 at 12:43 am #

Here’s my next plan … we invest in a bed and breakfast just so we have something to write about. Plus, if it’s an old enough house, we might get lucky and have a haint or two.

      • NC Coot April 7, 2012 at 12:49 am #

        “Have a haint or two.”

        Blog paydirt. Readysetgo.

You know I’m a big fan – every time there’s an email from Necessary Cruelty it’s eagerly opened. So, when Robin Coyle nominated me for the ABC (Awesome Blog Content) Award recently I immediately thought of your site, and I’ve nominated you – I hope you don’t mind?
    Follow this link, I think:

So glad, and glad to be following you. I’m indebted to Wanderlust!

        She is a dandy.

      • robincoyle May 2, 2012 at 9:30 pm #

Oh shoot. Failed to say thanks for the follow!

      • NC Coot May 2, 2012 at 9:31 pm #

        🙂

        My pleasure!

    Mr. Coot,

I don’t want to be a nag, but last post July 11. You always make me laugh, so I hope you start writing again soon- I’m selfish, what can I say? Hope you’ve been saving up stories for a storm of blogging.

You are an angel. It is time to write about the darkness, I suppose. But there is humor in the unlikeliest of places.

      Love,
      NC
